It’s time for another Mah-velous Monday Mixup! For this week’s Fashion Fix I decided to celebrate the recent string of great weather with an all over floral ensemble. I absolutely LUV the springtime, and nothing embodies Spring like flowers and lots of color. This look is just the thing to usher in the season and also curb my floral fetish which is on trend for Spring fashion.

For this weeks’ Fashion Fix! I’m going abstract artsy…with LOTS of attitude. Why you ask? Maybe it was because the annual Bronner Brothers Hair Show was in the ATL. If you haven’t heard of this world renowned hair and beauty showcase, here are the deets. Each Spring/Fall Atlanta plays host to the largest hair show in the world. This mega coiffure conference features a variety of events centered around the hair and beauty industry. The Bronner Brothers Hair Show is all about being fierce and fabulous, so I wanted to go for an edgy and fashion ferocious look for the occasion. Here’s what I rocked. Thanks to the Westside Cultural Arts Center in Atlanta for the beautiful backdrop.

For this week’s Fashion Fix Monday Mixup! weekly wrap up (try saying that fast), I decided to usher in the Springtime a little early with something colorful and fun. Yea I know it’s still Winter, and no thanks to Punxsutawney Phil we have 6 more weeks of it to look forward too. But I couldn’t wait to kick the Winter blues, so I mixed a little bloom with lots of blam for a refreshing look that’s haute and ready to bring in the Springtime, or whenever Phil gives us the go ahead anyhow. 😐

I’m so excited to share my Fashion Fix Monday Mixup! weekly wrap up. This week’s look was inspired by the Super Bowl XLVIII Champion Seattle Seahawks! I absolutely love Super Bowl season! Fashion AND football… Say no more! And who doesn’t want to look fab while rooting for their fav team!? Rocking chic fashion while not breaking the budget is always a winning combination in my household; after all I have several future linebackers to feed. 😉 So here’s my Super Chic look that I scored for The Big Game.

This season has seen its share of fabulous fashion trends. And while some of the summer’s hottest styles were re-do’s from seasons past like peplum and color-blocking, others seemed to be a breath of fresh air like all-over floral prints, lovely lace, bold stripes, and mix-matched prints. Summer fashion has definitely been a lesson in Fashion Creativity 101. I’ve learned a lot during Summer Style School and my wardrobe is slowly but surely making its way to the Haute Honor Roll for Fall. One of my favorite fashion subjects for the coming season is Geometric Patterns. Unlike solids, geo-patterns tend to break up body lines and can also mask or cover up your trouble spots effortlessly. And although this trend is more for the fashionably fearless I believe anyone can incorporate geometric pieces into their existing style. So if you’re afraid to step outside of your style “box” to “tri-angle” this bold look, fear not. Geometric-inspired designs come in a variety of styles to suite any fashionistas’ fancy and are definitely on trend for the coming season. So whether you prefer a more tribal-flair to your style or even a bit of mod-chic pizzazz, geo-inspired pieces for Fall are just the thing to keep you at the head of the class. So don’t get your “protractors” all in a bunch; simply head over to the shops at Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square to find gorgeous geometric-inspired styles that will make a nice “addition” to your wardrobe and transform it from “plane” to posh in an instance! Hey, who knew that Algebra would eventually come in handy some day! 😉

Each Spring we see floral prints sprouting up in designers sketches, but this season’s prints seem a bit brighter and bolder than in past years. I absolutely love the floral trend for 2013, and with perennial-inspired prints popping up in every style imaginable you can be certain to see plenty of petal pushers rockin’ fab florals throughout the season. From handbags to heels to skirts and shirts, botanical styles are in full bloom this season.
The key to looking fab in floral is to simplify the look. If your top is floral then opt for a solid bottom and vice versa. Try to keep the blooms to one piece and stay away from mixing and matching; after all you don’t want to blend in with Grandmas sofa, right?! Here’s agarden variety of styles that will add the perfect amount of botanical BAM to your wardrobe this season.
STYLE TIP:
Go big or go home! Not only does a big floral print make a statement but it just looks fabulous! Also try mixing bold florals with solids or stripes. This will help break up the botanicals and still give you enough bloom without looking like you just stepped out of a greenhouse.

Now that the great Oz of colorful influence, Pantone, has officially declared Emerald (17-5641) as the official Color of the Year for 2013, the fashion industry has been abuzz creating looks inspired by this fabulous hue.
