What’s not to love about a day full of pampering followed by brunch? That’s why I was so excited that the Atlanta Food Bloggers’ Society invited me to a fabulous outing filled with decadent bites, facials, massages, and mimosas, oh my!!! 🙂 Talk about my ideal day!! The get-together getaway was called “Bloggers & Bubbles” and featured a spa experience compliments of L’Occitane along with a taste of kitchen-inspired cuisine courtesy of South Main Kitchen. [dropcap]M[/dropcap]y mind has to be completely focused on my own illusions. I never look at other people’s work. I have an obsession with details and pattern. It’s really easy to get colors right. It’s really hard to get black – and neutrals – right. Black is certainly a color but it’s also an illusion.

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different. Everything I do is a matter of heart, body and soul. I’ve always tried to push myself technically and to push myself visually. That’s been part of the journey. Sometimes the simplest things are the most profound.

I like the things around me to be beautiful and slightly dreamy, with a feeling of worldliness.

It’s a philosophy of life. A practice. If you do this, something will change, what will change is that you will change, your life will change, and if you can change you, you can perhaps change the world. Design is a series of creative choices – it’s a collaborative effort, an evolutionary process. I design from instinct. What feels good. What feels right. What is needed. Give me a problem and I will approach it creatively.

  • I have an obsession with details and pattern.

Working on the details, twisting them and playing with them over the years, but always staying on the same track. I like things simple. I like to be real. My learning process is by eye alone; it’s not at all scientific. For me, art is about learning and about living with people. It’s alive. Grunge is a hippied romantic version of punk.

  1. Be a voice, not an echo.
  2. Do it with passion or not at all.
  3. If you want it work for it. It’s that simple.

Red Phone Booth: A Prohibition Experience

March 2, 2017

Imagine this… It’s the Roaring 20’s. The music is swingin and jazz is jumpin, but, Prohibition is the order of the day. What this means is that alcohol is prohibited. Banned. Illegal. Can you imagine not being able to belly up to your favorite bar and order your go-to sip? It’s crazy when you really think about it.

Since alcohol drinking was banned, you had to be very, very secretive if you wanted to partake in a few sips. To enjoy your favorite spirits you had to visit a “secret place,” a speakeasy as they called it. And it was all by word-of-mouth… Absolutely no mention of this underground establishment to anyone; only those who knew, knew. It was real hush hush…

Enter Red Phone Booth. A modern-day speakeasy where you can enjoy chic cocktails over great conversation, all set in Prohibition-era style. (And without worry of the lawman breaking up the party) 🙂 At Red Phone Booth, you don’t have to imagine what this experience would be like… you can experience it yourself! RPB has created a super authentic ‘20s-era lounge that really plays into the Prohibition era. And it’s oh-so fabulous darling!!!! Continue Reading…

My Fare Lady Macarons: French Flair with Southern Flavor

March 1, 2017

I have something to confess. My hubby is wonderful and all, but my one true amour is macarons. There’s just something about these sweet treats that get me so excited. Maybe it’s because I’m a dessert fanatic fiend, or maybe it’s because these adorable little pastries are a flavor-filled adventure in every bite. Yep… definitely the latter. (And only a pinch of the former.) 😉 Continue Reading…
